About

Geoff Blamire

In March 2020 my wife, Sheila, and I started doing more walking as we intended to go to Patagonia and walk with the Pumas. Unfortunately covid struck and then majority of the world was locked down. Two years and a couple of postponments later the trip to Patagonia was cancelled but we continued our daily walks.

So as of 18th November 2024 we've walked for 1720 days and a distance of 15,459km (9,662 miles)! Now and again I've map the distance out as if we're walking down the west side of Africa, so as of 18-Nov-24 you can see we're into Namibia and nearly through to South Africa

Sheila is a keen birdwatcher so during the walks we stop, quite often, and waltch the birds. I'm not as keen as Sheila so eventually to keep my interest up I started to take photographs of the birds. This started with a Sony Cyber-shot which was soon discarded for a Lumix Vairo and then this was upgraded to a Canon EOS R6 and their 100-400 zoom lens. These have now been upgrtades to an EOS R6 mark2 and their RF 100-500 zoom lens

As you'll see as you look through the images I'm not the best photographer and I certainly don't put the time or effort into it, just taking them as the opportunity arrives.

Of course eventually the thought came to me that I should show these images, hence this website. I had other family websites which didn't have their own URL so I've incorporated them here in order to make them more easily available. These are under Family Matters. Also there as other random collections of photgraphs/images which are under Other Matters.

So, take a wander around the site and I hope you find something you like!
